I got tired of seeing the old journal entry, so I did a new one ^__^

My mother went in for a hip operation about 7 or so weeks ago. She got a post-operative injection, and stayed in hospital for about 13 days, before being sent back home.

During the next week, the wound began 'weeping' and leaking gunk and old blood. Our GP (family doctor) sent some wound nurses to look at the wound. They told her she needed to go back into the hospital, and there we found out that she has a staff (no clue how to spell it in this sense) infection, which caused a massive blood clot, which, if it had ruptured, would have been very bad. They had to remove all the old blood, and fix things inside the wound (approx. 5 cms deep), and use a suction thing to remove any new blood coming through, as well as the infection

She has been in there about 4 weeks, getting to 5, and she is now well enough to come back home. We're hoping the house will be given the 'OK' from the occupational therapist, which came earlier today.
Our cats are missing her terribly, as well as all us children (well, mainly adults, but we're her children)
